The creation was made to express God’s love for us. When we eat, and enjoy it, it shows that God wants us to be happy as He nourishes our bodies.
When we feel refreshed from sleep, it shows that God wants to revive us to new life everyday. When we smell the fresh air, it reveals to us How God wants us to be invigorated by His Holy Spirit.
When we love one another, it was supposed to reveal the love Jesus has for us.
All things were created for the purpose of showing us God’s love. But sin has corrupted the earth, and sometimes we turn our affections on God’s created things rather than the Creator.
Therefore, in God’s infinite mercy, He decided to curse the earth to reveal that nothing is inherently eternal except Him. All beings derive their life from Him. All materials were created by Jesus. And…
As we look at our clothing, and it fades with each wash…
As our houses and cars break down year after year…
As our shoes and ornaments wear away with each step, we can realize that all things created are not equal or above the Creator.
Death, or rather, sleep, was instituted by Christ to remind all beings that only He is inherently immortal. No human, no animal, no plant and no inanimate object should absorb our attention as much as the One who created us.
Immorality, as seen in idolizing the created world or beings/objects in the world, is one of the most abominable sins ever committed because it places an object that we, ourselves, have the power to manipulate, or destroy, in God’s place.
