For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

The book of Proverbs 6:34

Let’s unravel this Scripture on a deeper level.

Jealousy is the rage or fury or wrath of a man. There is just something about stealing a man’s woman that makes men furious. Especially a man that truly loves and is devoted to their woman.

The act of committing adultery was considered such a crime that if a man committed adultery with his neighbor’s wife, both parties were to be put to death.

It was one of the Ten Commandments as well.

What is it about jealousy? You know, the Bible is more of a story than most people think.

Now, what this Scripture is also telling us is that the jealous man will not “spare” in the day of wrath. Essentially, the jealous man will execute punishment on the man who has stolen and violated his wife.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before jealousy?

The book of Proverbs 27:4

Here, again we are seeing that jealousy has the potential to provoke the highest form of anger.

So what’s the big deal? What is Solomon telling us?

Well, Jesus Christ, Himself, is a jealous God.

For the LORD thy God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.

The book of Deuteronomy 4:24

And the church is considered His wife.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;

The book of Ephesians 5:25

The kings/governments of the earth, and ultimately, Satan have seduced the church to disobey and disown Jesus. The fallen churches and disobedient institutions have sold themselves as prostitutes to the world.

Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God…

The book of James 4:4

What does it mean to be a prostitute? You know, I was studying the Bible for harlots.. I know, seems crazy.

Simply put, it seems from my brief study, the reason why a woman would become a harlot is for financial support. Maybe she is a widow with no husband. Maybe she’s an abandoned woman who has no family to provide for her. Simply put, it might be out of fear for future life needs.

So the fallen churches and ministries have been seduced to not follow the principles of true Christianity in order to increase their financial wellbeing. Ministries and Churches have been unfaithful to their husband, Jesus, who is God.

But, Jesus really loves His church and is very patient. But there is a day of vengeance coming.

There’s coming a time where Christ will avenge His true wife (the faithful church) and will destroy the world for persecuting His wife (see Revelation 18:21-24).

And the harlots, or fallen churches/institutions, that dishonor God and hurt His children will be included in that wrath.

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew 18:6
