The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: [7] The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. [8] The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Isa 40:6-8
People will fade away. Pastors and leaders and the learned men will eventually whither. But the Word of God shall stand forever.
The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. [8] They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
Psa 111:7-8
God’s Commandments are eternal.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:8
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. [23] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Isa 66:22-23
When all the false doctrines have faded away, the sinfulness of man has been purged and the corrupt of the earth have been burnt up with everlasting fire, those who love God will still be obeying the commandments given to men from the beginning of the earth.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: [10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:9-10
God, Himself has identified to mankind that which is needed before He requires it at the hand of men.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Gen 2:2-3
Like a Perfect Father, God first shows how it’s done then instructs man to do it.
But man did not want to obey God. Man wanted to obey his flesh and the enemy. As we see, Adam and Eve obeyed the serpent above God.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Gen 3:6
And, thus, the fall of mankind begun.
God did not want to destroy man forever, so to fulfill the terms of the law, while still being merciful, God desired to give mankind a way out of permanent death. From the Garden, God revealed to the serpent, who is the devil (Rev 12:9), that Christ would eventually crush his head.
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Gen 3:15
You can find a more detailed explanation of this prophecy here.
In the hearing of Adam and Eve, God promises a Savior to save His people from their sins, not in their sins.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Mat 1:21
This Savior, Jesus by name, was illustrated as the Lamb that would take away the sins of the world.
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Joh 1:29
And this plan was formed before the foundation of the world.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 13:8
God does not make mistakes, nor does He encounter surprises. He is not a man that He should repent.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Num 23:19
When He speaks, it is established. It doesn’t change. He has spoken one law and that was the only law recorded in the entire Bible that came from His lips.
And God spake all these words, saying, [2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. [3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me….
Exo 20:1-3
The same Word that spoke light and all the earth into existence, spoke the law in the hearing of the Israelites in the wilderness. The creative power of the Word laid the foundations of the earth. (Job 38:4)
Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
Psa 104:1, 5
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
That same creative power spoke the Ten Commandments. That alone should impress upon our hearts to listen to them and follow them. However, man was still stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and would not obey the law as it was given them. Then God sent the Lamb prepared from the foundation to bring light into the earth.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:4-5
That light was the Word. That light was the very creative power that brought everything into existence.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:1, 3
Because man would not listen to the Word from above. The Word came down and, again, showed men how to follow the law in a deeper, perfect way.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Joh 1:14, 17
While Moses repeated that which was told him in the mount, Jesus exemplified the law while showing mercy and grace. And although no one has seen God, Jesus came to reveal God, the Father, to man.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Joh 1:18
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. [11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:10-11
But men were still stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart so they crucified Him.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Act 2:36
But the same Jesus was made the Lord and Savior of the earth and of the redeemed that whosoever should believe in Him would have the power to become sons of God.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:12
And to be a son of God is to be led by the Spirit of God (Rom 8:4). And to receive the Spirit of God, one must obey the same law spoken by the Word on the mount.
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Act 5:32
But men still continued in their wickedness and have gone past breaking the law and has thought to change times and laws to suit their desires.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Dan 7:25
They persecute those who follow God (the saints) and speak words against their Creator. It is just as Jerusalem of old. (Ecc 1:9)
However, this will come to an end. And God and His servants will be vindicated. The law will be upheld at this time and the righteous servants will enter into eternal rest.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Rev 14:12, 22:14
Those who follow their own desires and follow their flesh and the devil will not enter into life because they kept not the commandments nor looked to their Savior.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:
For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie
Amos 2:4, Rev 22:15
The LORD hath spoken it and He will do it.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: [35] But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Act 10:34-35, Luk 1:6, Isa 56:2
